Default Slee brake lines

Just got my brake lines from Slee. There are several places that have little bumps protruding. I was wondering if this is normal?

Thanks, they're pretty small. I don't know if I would have noticed them if they hadn't made little dimples in the plastic package.

Can you post a pic of it? THe outer palstic cover on these lines are not really that important, it is the SS braiding and inner piping that matters.

when you put them on, make sure to use a flare wrench. see this thread...

I'll try to post a photo. I don't know how to resize, though, and haven't been able to when I tried in the test area. It seems like the bump is created by a small protrusion of the stainless steel, but I can't really tell. I called Slee and they asked that I email photos to them, which I will do tonight.

Oh, I won't be installing them myself...

Thanks!

Create an account in Photobucket, place your photos in there and it will resize for the web for ya.

I emailed photos to Slee, we'll see what they say. I haven't created a photobucket account because I'm hesitant to give my name and date of birth with my email address. Probably being overly cautious, but I used to be a private investigator (I didn't take the test, my boss did) and the old habit of not giving out personal info has stuck with me.

In the macro photos I took it looks like very small protrusions of the stainless steel braiding. It's easier to see in the photos.

So don't give a real name or DOB, and set up a junk email account for just such purposes (I have several). You can also use www.imageshack.us which doesn't require you to sign up or anything.

/ontopic
My Slee lines didn't have any bumps on them that I was aware of.

Difficult to see with the small pictures, but it looks fine to me. I assume the first pic the big "bend" is due to the outside packaging plastic that causes a reflection.

Yeah, the big bend at the bottom of the line is from the packaging. The "bump" I'm talking about is a little higher than the middle of the line, about where the bracket meets the line.

Here's another try or two:

It looks to me like some of the stainless steel is a little bent.

I don't think it is a big deal, but check what Slee says to be sure. IIRC mine had a few kinks like that as well.

Thanks, I'm waiting for a call or email from Slee now. I'm also going to ask damaged110 if he has an opinion when he installs them. Right now I'm (patiently?) waiting for the rear shocks and springs to arrive.

Do most people mind their names being used here? I know a lot of people prefer to remain anonymous on the internet, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I guess it wouldn't be possible, considering how often members get together! For anyone who doesn't know, I'm Scott.

I'd change them. I know that Christo or Ben would do it without any issues.

Actually, you're right! They said it is just cosmetic, sometimes when the outer sleeve is put on this will happen. BUT, they are sending out a new set and paying the return shipping of the ones I have. I didn't even ask them to, I would have probably been happy knowing it was cosmetic, but I am extremely impressed with their customer service so far.

Most of us who know each other will just our names. After all, my name isn't my034runner, it's Robert, but you already knew that Scott. Damaged110 is Brett. I prefer my name be used.
