Default Chayos00 Detailed/Paint Corrected My 08 T4R

I figured to try to bring some life into the forum.

So in February I gave my truck a 95% correction to it's paint, as it was just looking dull due to the AZ pin stripping on the truck.

Here's my process:
- First wash truck really well, I use dish soap to cut all grease and remove any traces of wax, treat for bugs and tar. Scrub it like 2-3 times to make sure all dirt is removed.

- Then I follow it up with a clay bar treatment, however a while back I found something that allows me to "clay" the truck but using my DA Porter Cable 7242XP, Nanoskin Autoscrub.

- Then after that I tested the level of pads with the compound to see what would work best for the level of correction I needed. I found my Orange Lake Country CCS pads and some Meguiars M105 Compound was what was needed. I went over the truck twice with this combo and then followed up with CCS White pad and Meguiars M205. Followed by a Blue CCS pad and Duragloss 105 Automotive Total Performance Polish to give it the final protection. Sit back and enjoy the shine!

Added a new AZ 4Runner sticker for a local FB group.

Spreading out the Meg M105.

Final results, I didn't go with a higher level correction as it was this was a three day project for me to make my baby shine again! I have like a 90-95% correction on the paint and most pinstripes are out except for the deep ones. Almost don't want to take her offroad and scratch her up again. But I will eventually.....

Also took the roof rack off to repaint it and to get the paint protected under it again.

Good job! Geez that's super shiney! Makes me feel like there may be hope for my truck yet! haha,
I was using Chemical brothers products but by hand. I need to get a machine!
I use Dawn if I'm going to be polishing or waxing, then clay bar until it is smooth, then polish then wax or sealant. My truck needs some love!

Yeah I use Dawn too at the start, but I think I had some other brand on hand LOL. But yes I've done some other restoration on another black vehicle I'll have to see if I can find those pics. But here's where I started off getting my equipment. https://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-7424xp.html I knew it was a legit company when I was visiting Florida and drove right by their HQ.

Went offroading about 2 weeks ago and just scratched it all up again, damned Arizona pinstriping. Seeing these after pictures again makes me dread the fixing of the paint again. However I think I'll only go for the light compound and call it good when I do it again. LOL

Have you looked at the Ceramic stuff on the market now? Looks like it's amazing! Repels dirt water dust and makes the surface almost scratch resistant. I haven't tried it yet but my buddy put some on a set of coilovers and shocks to keep them nice and clean.
