Default Demello sliders install question

I bought a set of sliders from Demello after seeing the sale he offered here back in November and I've been trying to install them. I was able to get 3 bolts in on the passenger side slider but I can only get one bolt on the driver side right at the front of the gas tank. I can't get a bolt in farther back because of the gas tank up against the frame. I also can't find any where further forward to get a bolt. Can any one give me some help before I go down and see them on Monday.

The one near the gas tank is a shorter bolt. I was able to fit it in without taking the gas can skid off, but you might need to take the gas tank skid off if you can't. I remember there was a nut welded to a plate that went against the gas tank. I am sick but if I feel better tomorrow I can take pictures.

Well, I managed to get a second bolt (bolt welded to the plate) on the back between the gas tank and the frame but it is in contact with the gas tank so I'll be going to see them Monday morning before school.

Sandapanda, if you can get some pictures that would be great, but get better first.

use the break bar or the big long screw drive ,place it between the frame and the gas tank and gentle push and slide the bolt plate in, the bolt will hide inside the frame and use the shortest bolt for it.
Myself i asked Demello made me 2 " bolt plate" so i have 5 bolts on driver side and 2of them locate in gas tank area.
If you need more hardware go to Home Depot, they carry the size and the grade same as Demello send you (few bolts in the front area are longer since the frame is wider ) . i have 6 bolts on pass side..Hope this help.

I went backplate with no washer, standard nut with locktite instead of the ny-lock. There was absolutely no way i could get that ny-lock nut in there. I was barely able to squeeze a standard nut in and once you tighten it down it'll squeeze the frame and pull the nut away from the gas tank.

The welded nut is not inside your frame or mine for that matter. It sits facing the gas tank, but there was still a bit of clearance.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had realized that the longer bolts wouldn't fit by the gas tank but I didn't think about letting the bolt go into the frame on the one where its welded to the plate. I also noticed the bracket on the inside of the the frame on the drivers side and I didn't get a spacer for it either.

When I picked the sliders up and they gave me the bag of bolts they said they had a list of what to include but they said they haven't been able to find it since one of their employee's left.

Maybe we should change them if that's the case. I just assumed because of the bolt length that the nut should be outside the frame because it'll stick past the frame anyway.

How was the install overall? Ordered a set as well and haven't received them yet. Getting anxious, took the stock steps off yesterday.

I'm following this thread closely. Ordered DeMello sliders in November too and expecting them to arrive anytime. Hope the install is straightforward...

We have Davids truck here now and are installing his sliders. I apologize for not having better instructions for these sliders. That's something were going to work on ASAP.

anyone else waiting for sliders should be getting them soon, we have been shipping them out the last couple of days.

Thanks for the help Jason. I will try and get some pictures up tomorrow so people can get a better idea of how they bolt up until Jason can get the instructions finished.

As for the rear nut welded to the plate, Jason did put that on with the nut into the hole on the frame and he also swapped the bolt for a shorter one than they included in my bolt kit.

I'm going to put together instructions tomorrow so we don't have these issues in the future.

Jason...so you think we should swap that plate so the welded nut is actually into the hole in the frame?
And get a shorter bolt...
