Default UCA's rubbing coils

I have searched to no avail.
At full droop my uca's are rubbing the coils on my Icons. Any suggestions for a fix without replacing the ucas?

I thought I read somewhere the other day about this but I cant find it.

I found my answer over at the FJforum.

I have to rotate the coil is what they are saying over there in this thread http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...oils-pics.html

Mods you can delete if you would like but it may help someone in the future.

Rotating the coil will not help on a coilover. The reason is that when the suspension cycles the coil will actually rotate on its own in the coil buckets. There are no coil stops in the coilovers like with the stock or OME setups.

Mark your coil with some white-out and then go wheel a bit and you will see hat I mean.

Slight contact is not the end of the world. You can get UCAs or add limiting straps, but if there is only very marginal contact you shouldn't worry too much.

I assume you don't have the extended length Icons.

Thanks Andries. I cant try rotating the coils since the truck is at Toyota getting new front axles(warranty).
So I definitely trust your word about it. New UCA's are in the future but right now I have done too much so I have to recover a bit.
It is only slight contact but when I jack the truck up and the wheel droops it gets hung up on the coil which I cant see being good in the long run. I will just take it easy for awhile till I get the new UCA's.

And yeah the icons are the standard length.

Thanks again.

I am surprised you have contact with the stock Icon setup. Some folks actually put spacers in with the Icons and got some contact then.

Maybe take a pic when you can.

Aftermarket UCA will solve the issue.
