Default GX470 Performance Upgrades

Hello, I have a 2007 GX470 and I would like to do some engine upgrades for performance and gas mileage. Thinking about a cold air intake, exhaust kit and performance chip. Any recommendations?

No real chip for it, some aftermarket tuning for it but it's around 600 iirc. Biggest gains will be exhaust from headers back, you will get some negative feedback on cold air intakes as the stock setup is pretty damn good. I think URD has the ecu tuning but can't recall right now, I'm going to go MAP3ECU eventually, doing Doug Thorley headers, and a regear, only reason I will be messing with intake is to remove the large silencer and run a snorkel as well.

Why are you looking for more power? Did you go up in tire size? the 4.7 VVTI is a good engine with some good power, mates great with the tranny as well. Just curious

Thanks bahndrvr. I'm looking for a little bit better gas mileage and power because I will be upgrading my off-road capabilities, i.e. lift kit, ABR bumpers, tires, rack. That will be adding a lot of weight and want my truck to still perform with those additions. I appreciate it.

If you go up tire size alot and add alot of weight, you'll need re-gear to get back some oomph. Won't get you more horses or mpg but will accelerate less badly.
