Default 19th Pole Canyon

I ran this trail in April & have been itchin' to try it again. I called it Loose Rock Falls but have discovered it's been called 19Th Pole or Pole 19 Cnyn for a long while. Being 19 telephone poles down Randsburg Rd is the origin of it's name. My dad & bro took the day off to run the trail with me on Sat for my BD that just passed. The trail consists of 5 falls with one tight spot btwn fall 2 & 3. I was denied fall #3 last time & took strap on #5, so I was curious to see the difference with lockers.

Fall #1 took a little more work than last time. Even with the rear locker engaged tire placement was important.

Fall #2 was much easier than last time. All 3 trucks crawled up without issue.

There definitely have been a few groups to come through as the trail was a little more broken in at places. The squeeze was a bit easier to get through but still took some time to make it without damage.

My boys are quite happy to swim around in the dirt while we get through the tougher spots. They will even lead the way sometimes.

Fall #3 got me last time because my tow hitch would keep my rear tires from getting deep enough to get any traction, but with the locker, it was a walk in the park.

Fall #4 didn't offer much challenge but is still fun to do.

Default Fall #5

Now Fall #5 proved to be an even tougher challenge than last time. It took both lockers, several well placed rocks, a bit of the skinny & a well timed bump before we got the 4R up on it's own power, but up it went none the less. My Dad shredded a rear tire on the last fall after countless attempts at getting him up so I strapped him up & they threw on the spare. My Bro made a few attempts, but it was getting late so he took strap, begrudgingly, & we aired up & hit the Hwy.

It's a short trail but takes a while to get through. Very cool & tight canyon with some great wheelin'. For more pics you can go here:http://s144.photobucket.com/albums/r...yon/?start=all

Damn, fall 5 looks vertical, and with one well placed rock to catch to passenger tire once you make it up. Looks like a challenging little run.

It's very near vertical at the last 5 ft or so. I spent a good amount of time in the position seen in the 2nd to last pic, the driver side slider would hang up just enough to stop momentum, even with F/R lockers on. And after getting up it wasn't long before turning hard left, no good with the front locker on. So, I had to give it some gas & bump past where I was hanging up then turn off F locker & it just disengaged before having to turn. It was tricky. But Fun!

I think we can get 5 or 6 trucks through with some careful spotting, so I'm game for next year for those that want to try. Plus there's one more trail I want to get through & add to next years run. Once I've got a winch I'm going to see if I can get through.

Thanks Jason!!

Why do you need a winch to finish the other trail??

Because of one mean fall that I'm not brave enough to attempt without some extra support. I'll post pics when I try it. Should be in a few more weeks.
