As many of you know, I drove from Houston to California and back for the 2010 Pismo Jamboree but there was a little more to this trip than that so I thought I’d start this thread and share the whole adventure with you guys.
Enjoy…

Starting out, beginning to back out of my driveway in Houston…
![]() Welcome to New Mexico ![]() Just crossed the state line now in Arizona… ![]() Welcome to California (sorry for the poor picture quality). ![]() I stopped for Gas near Twenty Nine Palms and came across General Patton’s Museum so I took a couple pictures of the Tanks outside. ![]() It took me 26 hours to drive from Houston, TX to Riverside, CA. Here’s my mileage thus far (from my driveway to my parents' driveway)… ![]()

I learned the hard was that you shouldn’t have sodas in the truck if you’re going to blast down sand wash roads with whoops. Three soda cans blew up and knocked the door off my Coleman Fridge leaking all over the back of my Runner. Good thing I brought my Sham-Wow with me to absorb all the soda from the carpet, there are no stains in the carpet. Thanks Sham-Wow! Sunday afternoon I aired up and packed up to start making my way back home.
![]() I drove to Riverside that night, to layover at my parents’ house, along the way beautiful Santa Barbra... ![]() Monday afternoon I made it to Texas and stopped at a cheep sleazy motel a couple hundred miles past Van Horn (not staying there again). ![]() I made it home at 12:30pm on Tuesday. Here is my total mileage at the end of this trip (back in my driveway in Houston). ![]() Cheers!!!

Hey Will,
It's so cool that you made the trek to see us back here in Cali. I can't believe you drove from Riverside to Houston in what?... 1.5 days!! That's insane dude. You must have downed like... a case of Redbull on your trip. Really sorry I couldn't make it to Pismo this year...

Your picture for Santa Barbara is an oil well in Ventura.
![]() When we were growing up my friend's little sister thought that oil tank island was Gilligan's Island, and she wondered why they couldn't get off when there was a pier to drive on.

I looked up the Miller Jeep trail and I know where it is, it's a pretty extreme trail that takes you up Frazier mtn and you can enter in the back of Hungry Valley. We would have driven it but I didn't want to chance breaking anything because I had to drive back to Texas. If I can get a class C motor home with a flat bed trailer for the 4Runner, I'll do it for sure!
