Default 04 4Runner Jbl synthesis, very low volume

Everything sounded great, and then last week i noticed that there wasn't much sound coming from the back. I went to the option to fade to the rear and there is sound, but it is very quiet. So everything in back of the front seats is about 15% of the volume of up front. Any ideas what may be going on?

Short going to the amp and sub woofer maybe? Well, I guess that only matters if it's the sub woofer that's not getting power, if it's the mids in the second row, hummmmm. I have to ask Rich in the shop.

It is everything in back of the driver/passenger. the rear doors, the speakers in the far back. really strange. Do you know if it has a separate amp for that part of the 4Runner?

It's all one amp. You could have a short, or a bad amp. Does it do this with different sources? Meaning when using radio versus cd or tape?

Good question. I have only been listening to the radio lately. If i do a different source, it would limit it to being the unit or something after the signal gets sent. Any idea what the specs are for the amp and where it is located?

Amp is located behind the panel the subwoofer is in. I forget the specs, it's something specific to this car and replacements aren't cheap.

If you listen to a different sources and the problem goes away, that would narrow it down to either the source or head unit. If the problem continues, it's the amp or wiring. This sounds like an amp issue to me though
