Default Buying a used 4Runner, navigation question

I'm looking to buy an 03-05 4Runner, and I had a question. I've been searching for one with navigation, that being one of my must have's. Of course it makes the vehicle a lot more expensive. So my question is, Is the navigation unit in this car worth the money? An on dash or portable unit is out of the question for me, I need something integrated. So my options are find the right 4Runner or buy an aftermarket indash unit. Opinions from people who have used the 4Runner navigation? or indash aftermarket units?

Thanks
Jeff

I have an 06' with Nav and I think it's great but there may be others that are more functional than the stock one for off-road use. the stock one is, like most of the new toyota stereo's, made by Fujitsu ten ...who makes Eclipse.

I will only be on the road. I was under the impression that factory systems were more advanced, i.e. integrating with the car speed sensor when a sat link was not available. Not sure if the aftermarket units or even the 4Runner unit does this. Maybe this post should be moved to the audio section. Or maybe I should inquire on some sort of Audio Video message board.

If you can't find a Limited with factory nav, then I'd get a 4Runner, and install the Eclipse, like Mike said, it's basically the same unit, and has more features.
I have factory nav, but I wouldn't hesitate to get the Eclipse unit. We sell them all the time, and put them in just about any Toyota product.

Pioneer recently released a factory style aftermarket unit selling for $1000. One of the cool features (that nobody else has) is that you can adjust the lights to be amber to match the 4Runner dash lights.
