Default Best fuel cans these days?

I didnt get mine before this carb **** and now im left trying to find something decent, simple, and cheap.

What are people buying these days?

Ideally something of the military variety that isnt bright red.

Thanks,
Evan

these seem like a good choice but red (you can always paint them):

https://www.expeditionexchange.com/wedco/

I got tan scepters from Brigade Quartermaster that I really like, ...non-CARB compliant though.

Yes the problem with the scepters if no one will even sell them to non military anymore. They would be ideal though because of weight reductions...will be looking to have 10 on my roof.

Im wondering if there is any difference in plastic between the water cans and the gas cans.

If I recall it may be the gasket that is different. I just ordered 4 of the Wedco's from ExpeditionExchange. Great to work with and fast shipping!

It seems like the Wedco cans are the alternatives for Scepter. You can find some Scepters on Ebay, but they'll run about $75+shipping. You can find some Wedcos for $40.

Yea the wedcos seem like a good choice...going to call Scepter tomorrow and find out if there are differences between the water and gas containers other then the spout. If theyre arent Im probably just going to flip the EPA the bird and get the water ones.

As far as I know, I think the seals for the caps might be different from MFCs, not sure if this would be affected though. Also you have to check if the spouts from the normal gas can fit on the water can.

the scepter water cans o ring is made of rubber and wont seal fuel. also the spout for the fuel can will not screw onto the water can. and the built in vent that is in the fuel can is not in the water can. the water can is also thinner material and wont hold up to the pressure of the fuel expanding. if you would like some pics of the differences let me know i have a bunch of fuel cans and water cans. i am also working on getting some delivered from Canada but it is looking futile at this point.

I guess it also depends on how many Tim and I can carry comfortably. I would guess around 4 or 5 a piece. I'm bringing one of mine to use.

20 Liter Fuel (Tan or O.D.) - $45 + shipping (I think tan is slightly cheaper $43?)
20 Liter Water (Tan, O.D., Black) - $33 + shipping
10 Liter Fuel (O.D. ) - $34 + shipping
10 Liter Water (O.D.) - $23 + shipping

The 20 Liter cans are the most common; the smaller ones are "grunts" that would probably be pretty good for stacking multiple cans next to each other on a roof rack.

The O.D. ones come with a red strap for Gas and a yellow strap for Diesel. (No smaller size "grunt" Diesel cans)

Pour spout for gas cans are $30+shipping

ok, guys, I'm getting a lot of requests to ship these out to people. I was merely offering a way to bring out a few of these with me if guys wanted to meet us in Utah and get them that way.

Not trying to be a jerk, it's just that I don't have the time or means to buy a bunch of containers and then ship them out all over the country.

Hey, then I want some more to!! Can you ship them to me tomorrow??

No really, it's good to know. I'd get a couple more some day, when you have time.
