Default SOLVED-Tailgate Creaking After Adding Dynamat???

*SOLVED!*
The creaking and squeaking sound was metal-on-metal and sounded horrible. Turns out it was a dirty latch. Once I cleaned the latch and the lock component, no more sound!

Hi Guys,

I recently Dynamatted the tailgate and after doing so, I'm experiencing major creaking from the area, but I can't figure out what's causing it, or why the Dynamat is causing it, if it is.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Thanks!

Did the dynomat make a big difference in the interior noise?

A noticeable difference, yes. A BIG difference, no.

All of my doors and trunk have been Dynamatted. Adding Dynamat to the entire flooring would help much more.

do the flooring and add double layer over the wheel well areas and fire wall area. Putting a mat on top of the sound deadening on the flooring will help a bunch too! Check out B-quiet products that's what I use and it is priced way better than dynamat. Extreme and the V-comp on top.

Looks like the B-quiet products are a good alternative to dynamat.
