thanks,
yeah it was pretty tricky for me
i thought i was going to loose a door..and a wife on that trip

the MTZ's are very grippy, good sand traction, wear is very even,
guiet and awesome in the rain
(we took a 2500mi road and it rained for 5 days staight)

http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x...t=41e855ce.pbw
*updated the slideshow with some more pics of the stereo install*

i've had it running with all the amps mocked-up and the sound was killer
(i must say, i was more than happy with the prelim' results)

now... tear it all out for more fiberglass

What did you do to the fenders, bumper and trim, to get the darker-matte finish?

somewhere between...
not washing it often...
the camera and...
it being an early '03...
the panels only have a hint of the "matalicy" sparkle in them

but most of the '03s in CO had the two tone with the Grey cladding
(and almost ALL were V8 too... it was really hard to find my v6)
didn't see painted SR5's till i tooka trip to MN in the summer of '03

Shabaka,

What size do your tires come out to? 33"

my 265-70-17 comes out to 31.8".

I love my MTZ's because instead of having lugs in the middle rows, they have more of a shark tooth design. To me this makes this tire ride way smoother than other M/T tires.

In your earlier post, you posted the same size tire as me. However, your current signature says that you have upsized. What size are you running?

Your 4R is the only other 4th gen 4R Ive seen with MTZ's on. I like your style.

yeah i ran the 265 tires just like you for about two years (...just over two years)
same size 32" ...31.8"
AWESOME tire real everyday tire with a smarter tread pattern, i agree

well...
i had to pull off halfway on a trail run last summer because the 32s were "too small"
and i couldn't complete the trail
so the best answer
get the same tire only BIGGER

i run the MTZ in 315/70 r17 now (...35" or 34.6" actual size)
and the second attempt is in a week ...i am so going all-the-way this time

i do love these tires though
sooper tough too

Default pics from camping

just got back from camping and wheeling with the new set-up
no "action shots" but here some more pics....

as you can see, she needed some emergency trimming on the bumper before i could hit the trail...
i'll clean that up later

Nice pictures. Are you doing your own glass work? It's something that I'd like to learn to do.
About your MTZ in 315/70 R17 ... I'm assuming you had some rubbing issues in the front.

thanks

rubbing issue?? what?? who told you that
i wouldn't call them "issues"

oh she rubs!!!!
front, back and sides

no it's not that severe ...it will still get the inside of the fender well at full stuff f/r
but it so light (minnor) that i don't see any point in doing a body lift
the lower overall hight/tire ratio is a better way to go for me

yep i do the fiberglass myself
i'm slowly getting better at it
its not as hard as it looks if you're patient and have a clear plan as to what you want
