Jeff, How's the rear suspension handling the extra weight of the bumper?

When I first got the OME's I never thought I would mod my truck this much and they served their purpose very well, but I notice now more than ever that I need to upgrade soon though. Since the bumper is not full plate on the wings it's not quite as heavy as other ones out there and the OME's are ok. I definitely notice the loss of ride height in the rear, but the compression of the shocks themselves is not bad.
The real issue has been the 885's up front with the SW bumper, marine battery, compressor, and the v8. It nosedives really bad, especially in sudden stops and doesn't handle that well in turns anymore. I can probably get away with some OW up front and keep the OME's for a little longer but I imagine in the Spring when I upgrade I will probably just do the whole thing.
Kind of off topic but do you have any profiles pics showing the rake you have now with the 3.5in All Pros and standard length coilovers? I have been thinking about chaning to your setup just with OW up front instead, but was unsure how it would look with so much lift in the back.

Sorry if these are hard to compare the different heights, these are all I have right now. With the weight of the rear bumper, the rake was even or level with the front, with the ICON springs. With the AP springs the rake is back, but not too a** high.

W/ICON 2" springs

W/AP 3.5" springs.

It was one that Jeff (JAM07Sport) had made for himself a few years back and then sold to me. There are pictures of it in my build thread but it is already sold to a friend.

Yeah it is kind of hard to tell and I have probably seen most of your pics at least a few times (awesome truck obviously). I will just wait until you have a chance to wheel or whatever and get a full profile pic. Ray (daPitbull) has the same setup I believe and it looks good, but he also has a little bigger tire so I am curious to see what it looks like with the Duratracs in the same size.

Thanks Jeff.

I'll try to take a side profile pic tomorrow and post it for you.

For standing height measurements:

Driver side front: 39"
Driver side rear: 40-1/4"

Passenger side front: 39-3/8"
Passenger side rear: 40-1/2"

To mention, my front coilovers are at the max 3.5" of lift, plus the 1.5" body lift and the 3.5" rear coils.

I jumped too soon on my question. I read about it in your build thread. It looked pretty cool for not being a complete rear bumper.

Yeah it was nice and really performed well, but I was growing tired of dragging it on steep departure spots and I also wanted a dual swingout, and to eliminate rubbing when really stuffing so I just made the jump.

Haha I tried to before but he is trying to keep it simple. If you are really interested just PM JAM07Sport and see if he is interested in making another. I am sure it is a lot easier than making a full bumper.

thanks Mark that works for sure. It doesn't appear from the pic to be much different than the 2 inch lift from the side profile.

No problem Jeff, I think the 3.5" springs would be more noticeable on a truck without a rear steel bumper.

I haven't seen Rey's truck lately or in person, but I think his sits about the same in the rear also.

I may look into custom 4"CSS springs later, but I have some other projects I'm focusing on at the moment.

Sick bumper man! I love how clean and simple it is! What size tubing are you using? Is it the same all around? Any chance it could get higher up closer to the plastic peice or is it that low for a reason?

Thanks!!

There is a gap so that when it flexes the steel doesn't crash into the plastic and pop it off or crack it. As far as tubing and materials I really don't know all the details but I can get the fabricator to post that sometime.
