I wish. I turned down a nearly identical 03 SE with 103K miles for this one with 60K miles, out in North Carolina. Turns out the saleswoman's son played football with Brandon Spikes in high school, and Brandon was always at their house for dinner. Small world.....I geared up hoping to catch another drop in the price for being a Gator fan. yeah, it helped....a little...

Well, I just ordered my first lift kit ever. I got the OME full suspension kit from Toytec. opted for the 885/895 combo. I'm hoping I read enough, and chose wisely. I'll see.... I think if worse comes to worse, I'll just have to add some weight.

Any thoughts? I did get the top plate spacer, and the diff drop kit, so we'll see how that works out... Should I have just gotten the sway bar relocator instead???

I'll run my 265/70/R17's for a while, as they are hardly worn, but I would like to get wheel spacers for all 4 wheels, to give it that wider look, and prep for bigger tires.

I'm somewhat new to all of this, so input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

-Jonathan

i have th 885/895's they are a little stiff but not terrible, i plan to add a rear bumper which im sure will help a bit.

you dont really need the diff drop kit on the 4th gens. they start with negative CV angles so with the lit the CV's arent really stressed.

spider trax and all pro both have spacers, 1.25" and 1.5" respectively. make sure you get hub centric spacers if you plan to keep the stock wheels.

and unpainted trim FTW!

Will be upgrading the tires when I need some new ones. these are fairly new, and they look ok.

This is a dream come true!! I've wanted to do this to a good truck for years!

Thanks! Yeah, I will get some 285's once I wear these out. The install went really smooth. the toughest part was compressing the front springs. the compressors kept sliding. Rides great. A little stiff in the rear, but not too bad! Very happy with the springs and shocks so far.

Default Dirty

Well, after all the anticipation built up, I realized once again, that I suffer from ORIA (Off Road Inexperience Anxiety).

I took the 4Runner up to a local spot called Prentice Cooper State Forest, yesterday after work. We hit a few trails, but I'm not too familiar with them, so I used extra caution (especially considering we were completely unprepared with no straps, no radio....). I'm hoping to connect with some more experienced drivers soon to learn a few things and get more comfortable off road.

I just wanted to get it a little dirty. Here are a few pics:

I'm trying to decide what size tires to upgrade to as soon as I have the money. My goal is to go larger without rubbing and little to no cutting.

What are suggestions for tire size using spacers and suggestions for not using spacers?

also, pro's and con's on wheel spacers?

Yeah, I wanted a SE, but the one I was looking at had 101k miles for the same price as my SR5, with 60k. Couldn't get the loan for the SE due to the mileage, and I was pissed. then I found the SR5 in North Carolina. Got a hell of a deal on it.

Finally got my Toyota120 stickers on. Gotta love that extra 15hp and 1/8 inch vertical lift.

Installed 1.25" spacers and a Gatorhead logo just in time for Florida to get their butts handed to them by Alabama.

I had to remove the front mudflaps after I installed the spacers because of rubbing.

You should be able to trim the flaps like I did to stop the rub.
