Question Taco and 4Runner difference

While having my 50k service done I was looking at soem Tacos and 4Runner on the floor. It quickly became clear to me that the Taco is definitely higher than the 4R. That is Tacos with and without the TRD package. Looking at the upper A-Arm you can see than the front on the Taco is lifted more than on the 4Runner. It definitely looks like the 4R can be lifted more than the Taco as more droop is availible from in form on the 4R, but the Taco is already higher from the factory.

On the 4R the top of the upper Arm is almost level with the frame where the strut mounts, while on the Taco you can clearly see the coils from the strut above the top of the upper A-arm. Sorry no pics, but you get the idea.

Just something to keep in mind.

I'm pretty sure the gas tank is all above the frame rails also. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

On my 89 pickup the gas tank does hang down below the frame rails. I would think they all do some.

I can't recall seeing the gas tank on the Taco hanging significntly below the frame. I think it was pretty much flush with the frame. The Taco frame changes significantly from the 4R one where the crossmember for the transmission is. ALso the front end of the frame is slightly different (explains the use of different bullbar requirements from ARB).

Interesting. I thought there would be more in common between the two.
