Hope it doesn't have a sunroof
![]() Good luck with the new build. Sounds like a good list of planned mods. Bobby

Interested, but not anytime soon. I just dropped way too much $$ on the new car.

![]() I'm really happy my suspension is just a straight swap (and even happier the insurance is letting me keep it). It'll be in by the end of next week! It's painful to drive a stock vehicle now

It'll be a few months away at the earliest, so don't hold your breath waiting for me. Thanks for the offer though.

![]() ![]() Well I got my suspension put in, and got rid of the wreck. We ran out of time for an alignment, but from eyeballing it it looks fine, definitely good enough for the weekend. That's fine with me because I think the coilovers need to be adjusted to bring the front up just a little bit. It's hard to tell because the picture isn't quite level ground, but there's still a tiny bit of nose-down rake. I'll have to check before getting an alignment on Monday.

I like it, so now you have to provide us with a good 4th gen 5th gen comparison

I'll stick with stock (265/65/17) for now, probably upgrade to 34s before the Shaver Lake trip. I need to figure out how bad that will rub though. I might put in a BL before then so we'll see.

![]() The 5th definitely feels a lot bigger inside, I don't feel squished anymore. As expected, the ride doesn't really feel too different to me. I've always hated the body styling on the 5th gens, but I've recently started liking it more. Especially now that I have one, it's really growing on me quick. I still think the 4th gen looks better though. Still, a nicely built 5th gen looks much better than a stock 4th any day! I can't wait to take this thing out and test it off-road.

I replaced my dash speakers with some Jl Audio C2-350x (I had Rockford Fosgate P132). It's a massive difference. If you're interested in speaker replacement, read this:
I've had a lot of trouble getting the Fosgates to sound just right. No matter what I did they always seemed too bright and harsh. I have determined this is because of two main things. 1) The Fosgates use an aluminum tweeter and 2) They're only rated to 40 watts peak, and most head units put out up to 50 watts per channel. There was a lot of clipping and distortion that made a bad situation worse. The JL's on the other hand have a silk dome tweeter and are rated up to 75 watts peak, well able to handle the 50 watts my head unit is pushing. The difference is very noticeable, and the new speakers sound amazing. The silk dome keeps them from being harsh while still allowing perfect clarity up to the 22khz they advertise. For the same price, the JLs are far superior to the Fosgates for that location

Nope, that was the first thing to go. I'm using some Chinese knockoff, but it's really cool because it's actually a full Android tablet built into a double DIN head unit. It even came pre-loaded with the Torque app, I just need to get a bluetooth OBDII transmitter to pair with it.
