Talking 3rd Annual Toy120 Mojave Road Trip 9/12-14, '08!

Well, it's over...another successful Toy120 Mojave Road Trip is under our belt, and I can't wait to start planning next years trip!!

The weather was great, the people were too! And the food was great once again!!!

We had a total of nine trucks that actually came out and participated, and hopefully had a great time as well.

We....I mean I, will have a lot of pictures.....but bear with me, as I don't think I'll be able to get them up tonight, as I'm pretty tired.

Also, more reporting to repot as well, like a member who came all the way down erom Washington State just to take this trip with us!!!!

Also, thanks to Kai (Dave's son) for being a trooper and grabbing my camera to take photo's of us on a few obstacles after being out of his cast for only a few days!!

More to come!!

EDIT REPORT:

So Friday, we started out of Henderson a little later than I wanted. Then, Don starts to notice smoke coming from behind/underneath of My034runner.
No worries, as everything seems to be working fine, and no warning lights.
So, we're almost at Searchlight anyway, so we decided to stop and take a look and see what the deal is. There was trans oil everywhere underneath the truck, seemingly coming from the trans. But can't find the leak, and check the fluid level on a hill. Called Brett, he said to bring it back into town, and he'd have a rack waiting for me.

At that point, I gave a copy of the NPS permit to Ed (Ted-Vegas Runner), and sent him and the others to get down to the Avi, and lead everyone through, until I could get back. He has it mapped out on his computer from the last two trips!!

Checked it when I got back to Findlay Toyota, and he tells me that the level is where it's supposed to be.....WTF???!!!! Then where the hell is all of this T4 trans fluid coming from???
So he traces it to where it seemed to be coming from, and said he thinks, that because the vent was clogged, it was possibly overheating, and blew out pressure from the vent (wherever that is??), and that was the source of the leak...or all of the T4 under the truck.
He and his apprentice cleaned everything up, and cleaned this vent, fluid was fine...loaded me up with about 5 quarts of T4, and sent me on my way.

So, it took me a half a tank of gas to exactly....nowhere!!!

So, gassed back up again, and shot back down the US 95 once again, and saw a whole bunch of cops that we didn't see the first trip out!
I kept in touch with Don & Tammy, and when they got to the spot of the old Saloon, I was probably about 30 minutes away. So, I told them to go ahead on to Fort Paiute, and I'd meet them there.
Got there, we all hooked back up, and I resumed my Trail Boss role, and led everyone through time and history!!

And, that was just on day 1!!! More to come.................

The trip was awesome...

The only complaint I would have that it was a little too short. I would like to take an extended version of this trip that would allow more time to to explore and wheel some more challenging spots. But to have a huge group like we did and get through without any serious incidents or catastrophic carnage in a span of 3 days is a feat all it's own! I'll definitely be coming out with the 120 group again. Great chow, great company and an awesome time.

Thanks to everyone who was on the trip! It was an awesome time and as soon as I get a chance I'll post up the awesome blackberry photos I was able to to take.

Default 3rd Annual Mojave...

Great, Great 3-Day run. A few Mojave Preserve veterans and some first timers. It was a fantastic adventure. I should have my Pictures up within a few days hopefully tomorrow.

BTW it was great meeting the new people who attended this run and good to see kim & ed again and my bro's Ed & Robert.

These 500 are from Friday and Saturday morning. So, I'm still working on the other 400.

Can you actually post a few of them in a message here? My company blocks that photo site in your link.

Robert not to beat on you too much, but that photo gallery site is very slow.

Seems to chew up a huge amount of CPU on my computer. It seems to download larger pictures and then compress them for thumbnails on the local system. Maybe there is an updated version or something out there.

Anyway, great pix when they finally do show up!!!

Don't know how to make it any better. I have the publish setting on "Optimized", which is supposed to downsize them. There
is only two settings, Optimized and full size!
