165/70/17 or 165/75/17

I have a sport model and am wondering which of these options would be a better choice? I will not be doing a lot of suspension work, maybe just a leveling spacer. I'd like to get the best off road performance without possibly ripping parts off from too big a tire. Is the 75 too far off the stock tire diameter and make road driving a pain?

Ive seen people do the 175/75/16 but the 17 is basically 1" larger in diameter (32.6" vs 31.6")

The sizes you list are completely wrong.

Do you have 16 or 17" wheels?

You will be best served to look through the suspension and tire section as this topic has been discussed various times.

32" tires work well, but can rub a little (especially with no lift in the front). SO you might have to cut a little of the stock plastic inner fender on the front.

Stock size is 265/70/16 or 265/65/17 (pending wheel size) and is 30.7" or 31s.

An upgrade would be 32" - 265/70/17 or 265/75/16 and is around 31.7".

Sorry, mistyped, 265, not 165. I have the stock 17" wheels (sport model)
I looked through, as well as seached but there is a suprising lack of threads with 165/75 in them.

From what your saying, 265/70/17 is about the larest I would want to go, 265/75/17 would have a fair amount of rub without a decent lift?

No tires to my knowledge that are 165 , your speaking of 265 and for your truck and what you want is either a 265/65/17 (size) or a 265/70/17 which is 1 size up . (like Bulldog described)

I run 265/70/17 (32's) Bridgestone Revo all-terrains on my stock 17" rims and have no rubbing issues.
