Thx for the pics. How did you like the Hoes in the back? Easiest would be to get the extended and compressed lengths from DR themselves.

Anyway back to topic, thx for doing all the scouting in a zillion degree weather.

So is this trip likely to be possible for stock runners or is there a hard core element with no work arounds? Just want to get an idea of what type of trails are being planned.

Thx
Mark

Man it's nice out there! Thanks for leading us through. I'm cleaning up the tracks file to post and later I'll go through my pics and post some.

Yes, it is a great trail, even for stock vehicles. Jeff 4Runner is basically stock, other then his Hanna sliders and his BFG KO's, and he did just fine. There is a spot where I think that we'll camp out for the first night in Caruthers Canyon, that has some optional rock crawling involved, if time permits, whoever feels up to it, can explore up there, it is a sight to behold, and the first section isn't really that hard, it's the last section of it that gets tough and spotters and sliders are recommended.

This event is a run that's steeped in history and beauty, and has something for everyone. I don't go out there all the time necessarily because it's easy or hard, I go out there because it is beautiful, and tranquil and luckily, no crowded nor congested.
I hope that this answered your questions.
Thanks for asking Mark.
Cheers!!

We got a little bit of a late start leaving Henderson, like around 11:45 or so, and I think that we rolled back into Las Vegas around 11:00 or so. But we took in a lot of the road, we went in at mile marker 14 (US95 & Mojave Road) then back tracked to the river, reassured my self that, despite the recent change in the area due to road construction and such, that I had my bearings straight on that first 14 miles, as to try and stay true to the trail. I'm confident that it is so.
We probably traveled about 75 or so miles of the Mojave Road, but that's without any nice side trips, straight driving for the most part, probably pushed on too far for one day, but had fun anyways.

It was. Not the first time though. Many times have I pushed through, to try and get as many miles completed before I got tired driving, camp along the side of the Mojave Road, and finish up the next day. This is not for the faint of heart. You also don't have time to fully enjoy the drive.

Our trip in September, we will have enough time to enjoy our trip. Everyone will have a great time.

Here's the photos from the other camera from the Mojave Road!

Hoes overall, felt pretty good. And it was 60 degrees, not a zillion- in my034runner!! AC is the key!

I was back down in Bullhead again today, delivering an FJ Crusher and picking up her trade, and it was HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTER than Hell!! 125 degrees, celcius! Wait, I mean fahrenheit!
125 vs a nice cool 112 degrees in Las Vegas!!

Nice shots Jeff, thanks for posting them up!! I can't wait to go out there again. But I'm taking this weekend off from wheeling, 3 weeks on, 1 week off. Getting a 2 hour massage and getting Chyna groomed and shaved down a little bit this Sunday.
Going to the Sammy Hagar concert here in a couple of hours.

Man, what a beautiful day in the Mojave Preserve yesterday!!!! Sunny, not hot, not cold, but just right!

So, I went out and got the coordinates to the turns for and to Caruthers Canyon, which I'll post tonight when I get home from work. But in the meantime, enjoy my new photos.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. Just so you know, those are just teaser pics, as the upper canyon gets even prettier! The pics that I took were of the lower Caruthers Canyon area. I scoped out the camp sites that I liked, and the third site that I took pictures of (mid canyon) is always my favorite. But I wanted to pick at least two others, just in case the one is occupied. When I get home, I'll post up individual pics with their coordinates taken from my Nav, and post them in the planning thread.

You know, your going to kinda wreck the experience with so many pictures. Lets save some of the beauty for when we get there. I feel like I've already been and I haven't even looked at all your album shots.

Plus I won't be able to post any of my own photos when I get back because you will have documented the whole trip, mile by mile before we even go

A couple of offroading shots or a campsite shot would be enough to get us in the swing of things. Yeah - I'm one of those guys who likes women coming to bed with something hidden - nothing like a little mystery that you have to uncover Expedition baby!

Or are you trying to win a post whore competition?
